Marks and Brands

The application to record a brand must be completed in person at the County Clerk’s office. Cattle brands must be recorded in the county where the animals are located.

The recording fee is $16. The County Clerk’s office will keep a record of the brand. A copy of the Mark and Brand application will be sent to the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. Brands must be re-recorded every 10 years.

 NOTICE:

ALL cattle brands will expire on August 30, 2011.

This includes  those filed today or any time prior to August 30, 2011.

Renewal begins August 31, 2011 with a grace period until February 29, 2012.

Applications and information will be available closer to September 1, 2011.
